Community Health Reports
The Wilkes County Health Department in partnership with the Wilkes Regional Medical Center and the Health Foundation, Inc., as part of a local community health needs assessment (CHNA) process and accreditation process for the Wilkes County Health Department publishes a series of reports related to the health status and needs of our community, Wilkes County.
Community Health Needs Assessment
Every three years in partnership with Wilkes Regional Medical Center and the Health Foundation, Inc., the CHNA is conducted. The CHNA is a comprehensive report on the state of Wilkes County's health. It covers areas all areas of health including but not limited to:
Community Health Concerns
Employment
Health Priorities
History of Wilkes County
Population Demographics
Socioeconomic Factors
Information regarding the county is collected through community member surveys, stakeholder surveys, state and local data. From the CHNA health priority areas are selected and community partners work together to increase awareness intervention in these areas. In 2024 Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist completed a CHNA for Wilkes County. A copy of that report can be found by clicking the link below.
Wilkes Health and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center are also completing a CHNA in 2025. Wilkes Health has joined a regional collaborative that currently has 6 Hospital Systems (Atrium, Novant, CaroMont, Scotland Health, Hugh Chatham and Alleghany Health) and 11 Health Departments (Davidson Co, Davie Co, Forsyth Co, Wilkes Co, Alexander Co, Cabarrus Co, Gaston Co, Lincoln Co, Rowan Co, Union Co, and Scotland Co), and 3 United Ways (Rowan Co, Lincoln Co, and Davidson Co) The collaborative name is the Central Carolina Community Collaborative. We will be working over 2025 to complete a regional CHNA report, as well as individual county reports. These reports should be ready for distribution in early 2026.
